Arufa Natural coffee is the result of a strong commitment to producing high-quality cherries, combined with Monpi’s expertise in natural processing. The cherries are carefully hand-picked and delivered to the Kindeng wet mill, where Monpi selects only the finest lots.
Rather than following traditional pulping, fermentation and washing methods, the selected cherries are sun-dried whole for around a month. Once fully dried, they are hulled into green beans. The dry cherries are then processed at Monpi’s Kagamuga facility before being transported to Goroka for final cleaning and grading.
This meticulous approach gives the coffee its distinctive character, delivering a unique acidity and satisfying body. The cup is beautifully balanced, with notes of dark red fruits, honey, blueberries, strawberries, plum, blackcurrant-like tones, stone fruits, red apple and grape, rounded off with caramelised sugar sweetness for a mellow, harmonious finish.
