On Rancilio machines, USB and USB Tall refer to the same core model but with different cup clearance:

USB – Standard version, designed for traditional espresso cups. Maximum cup height is 80 mm. Ideal if you mainly serve espresso or cappuccino in smaller cups.

USB Tall – Taller version, with increased space under the group heads. Allows you to brew directly into larger takeaway cups or tall mugs without needing to remove the drip tray or use shot glasses.

Steady Brew - Rancilio’s Steady Brew (SB) technology is an evolution of the traditional thermosiphon system. Designed for single boiler machines, it maintains a stable water temperature throughout extraction - ensuring consistent, high-quality results even during busy periods or low-volume service.

T-Switch - The 4-position T-Switch allows each group head on a single boiler machine to be set to a specific extraction temperature. With the boiler at 1.0 bar, individual groups can be calibrated to approximately 88°C, 90°C, 93°C, or 97°C. This customisation ensures optimal brewing for various coffee types. Adjustment must be performed by a qualified technician during installation.
